Building a Brand From the Ground Up
Client: Dapper Dogs Day Spa
Industry: Pet Grooming
Location: Launceston, Tasmania
Team: Patrick Gee, Melissa Hampton, & Emily Shin
Timeline: December 2025 – February 2026
Scope of work: Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Website Design and Development, Booking Platform Integration
When Dapper Dogs Day Spa engaged Tuesday Creatives, the business was still in its earliest stages.
Founder Konor and investor David had secured a lease for the salon space, but the brand, positioning, customer experience and go-to-market strategy were yet to be developed.
Tuesday Creatives was brought in to help shape the business from the ground up, building not just the marketing assets, but the strategic foundations behind the brand.

The Challenge
Dapper Dogs was entering a competitive local market, where many grooming businesses looked and sounded similar online.
The business needed:
A clear market position
Strong visual identity
A launch strategy
A seamless booking experience
Brand recognition before opening its doors
At the same time, the business owners wanted to create something more premium, modern and emotionally connected than a traditional grooming salon.
Strategy First
The project began with a three-hour brand and strategy workshop with the founders.
From there, Tuesday Creatives developed:
A full brand and marketing strategy
Industry and competitor research
Pricing and positioning recommendations
Target audience profiling
A launch and go-to-market strategy
The focus was to position Dapper Dogs as more than a transactional grooming service.
The brand centred around calm grooming experiences, happier pets and confident owners. Themes we developed into a tagline which now features on the website and shop front. This focus helps differentiate the business from competitors focused purely on convenience or price.
Building the brand
Once the strategy was established, Tuesday Creatives developed Dapper Dogs’ full visual identity and customer-facing presence.
This included:
Brand identity development
Logo suite and visual direction
Colour palette and typography
In-store signage design
Website design and development
Social media profile setup and optimisation
The goal was to create a brand that felt polished, memorable and approachable while still standing out in a crowded market.
To bring this vision to life, we created a mascot that gives the brand a memorable personality to help build an emotional connection with customers. Rather than following common pet industry trends, the mascot draws on classic heritage-inspired identity to create a memorable brand that feels both approachable and refined.
We paired a sophisticated serif typeface with a clean, modern sans-serif and supported it with a palette of rich browns and warm neutrals. Together, these elements create a brand that feels trustworthy, welcoming, and premium, helping redefine the pet grooming experience in Tasmania.
Website & Digital Presence
Tuesday Creatives designed and developed the Dapper Dogs Squarespace website to function as both a high-converting customer touchpoint and a long-term growth asset for the business.
The website was built with a strong focus on:
Clear customer journey and booking flow
Meeting customer search intent
Strong local SEO foundations
Professional, premium presentation
Consistent brand implementation
Conversion-focused copywriting
Each page was intentionally developed with substantial, useful content rather than minimal placeholder copy, helping improve both search visibility and customer trust.
All website copy was written in Dapper Dogs’ brand voice, balancing professionalism with warmth and approachability, while also strategically incorporating relevant keywords and search terms to improve discoverability.
Visually, the site was designed to feel polished, cohesive and highly branded across every touchpoint, helping reinforce Dapper Dogs’ premium positioning in the market.
Tuesday Creatives also established and optimised the business’ Google Business Profile to strengthen local visibility and improve discovery through Google Search and Maps.
Within the first 3 months of launch, the site gained ranking for 4 branded terms, 4 commercial terms and 3 local intent terms, a signal that Google recognised the brand and was starting to build local authority.
Supporting the Launch
In the lead-up to launch, Tuesday Creatives supported the founders with strategic guidance through weekly brand coaching sessions.
These sessions focused on:
Marketing strategy
Launch preparation
Content planning
Customer experience considerations
Brand implementation
Communications support
This gave the business ongoing strategic support during a critical growth stage.
PR, Communications & Community Awareness
Following launch, Tuesday Creatives delivered a targeted PR and communications campaign to accelerate Dapper Dogs’ local awareness and growth. It resulted in a 66% increase in inbound sales, front-page media coverage, a 467% increase in social media reach and a fully booked calendar shortly after opening.
Solving the Booking Problem
As the business grew, booking cancellations and customer friction became an operational challenge.
Tuesday Creatives implemented and integrated the Square booking system directly into the Dapper Dogs Squarespace website, streamlining the customer journey and significantly improving the booking process.
The result was a smoother customer experience, the effective elimination of booking cancellation issues and an increase in loyalty and repeat bookings.
the outcome
From an empty leased space to a recognised local brand, Dapper Dogs launched with a clear identity, strong market positioning and a professional digital presence.
The business opened strongly, with owner Konor busy with bookings from day one following the launch of the brand, website and social media presence.
A month later, Tuesday Creatives’ PR and communications campaign significantly accelerated awareness and demand, helping completely fill the business’ books and establish Dapper Dogs as one of the most recognisable grooming brands in the Launceston market shortly after launch.
Just two months after opening, the business had grown enough to make its first part-time hire.
The project combined strategy, branding, web development, consulting and communications to help transform an early-stage business into a polished, customer-ready brand with strong community visibility from day one.
